Sheep get uncomfortable if they have a full belly while being shorn. As a minimum sheep should be off food and water for 4 hours prior to shearing commencing but no more than 12 hours.

A capable shearer can shear a sheep comfortably in 3 mins, add on time for other services (trimming feet or drenching) probably allow 5-7 minutes per sheep.

Yes we can, most sheep shearers can shear an Alpaca or two. Commercial Alpaca farms will require a more skilled Alpaca shearer with the correct equipment to harvest the fleece - but contact us and we can organise a professional Alpaca shearer for you.

Costs can vary depending on shearing conditions and services performed. Your shearer will be able to give you a more accurate quote via text before arriving.

Either we can charge through the ShearingHub website via credit card or you pay the shearer directly, most shearers will accept round figures if paid directly and can quote you quickly by SMS before arriving at your property.

Yes you can. Fill out the general contact form and we will contact reputable contractors on your behalf and get you upto 3 quotes. Include as much detail as possible i.e. numbers of stands, number of sheep, location and preferred time of shearing. Also any information on previous contractors you have used will be helpful. We we will be in touch to discuss your needs.
